Outside commercial entities are prohibited from serving food or beverages, and since you selected that you would like to serve food on our request form I am sending the following information.

There are specific policies in place to prevent difficult ethical situations within the Health Sciences by prohibiting gifts of food. Specifically, commercial entities are not allowed to offer food in our facilities as it can easily result in a violation of the WA State Ethics Act and/or Federal Anti-Kickback Statue.

Here's the relevant statement from the UW Compliance FAQ on Gifts Food,and Meals from External Sources:

"Commercial entities are prohibited from bringing food or drink into our facilities."
