Operators are only available for events held in spaces controlled by Classroom Services during normal business hours (8am - 5pm, Mon-Fri). Operators can be scheduled for up to an hour to help set up A/V equipment or provide support during scheduled presenter changeovers but are not available to stay for the entire duration of your event. Operators may not be available on short notice requests.
Our operators provide support for using the technology in the classroom or that is checked out from Classroom Services. For video conferencing, our operators will make sure that the classroom equipment (projector, camera, microphones, etc.) is functioning with your laptop. However, they do not provide support for the video conferencing software. If you require technical support for any software you may be using (e.g., Zoom, Panopto, PowerPoint), please check with your department IT or with UW-IT prior to your event.
Common UW-IT resources:
Using Wi-Fi at the UW (for guests)
UW Zoom Video Conferencing (for online participants)
Panopto Lecture Capture (for lecture capture solutions)
We do provide technical support for all events on an as needed basis. You do not need to add an A/V operator to receive support when you call about a technical issue while setting up or during your event.
