Many of the classrooms managed by Classroom Services are equipped with a variety of microphones and other AV equipment. To access these microphones, customers must first sign out a set of podium keys in person from our office using the Equipment Checkout Form. After the form is submitted, the instructor will receive an email stating their key number, the date it was reserved, and a reminder of our podium key policies.
Each set consists of two keys, C415A & CH751, and a plastic key fob labeled with the number assigned to that set. The C415A key opens all podiums located in the Health Sciences Building, South Campus Center, and the Foege building; the CH751 key opens only the podiums found in the Health Sciences Education Building.
When a podium key is returned to the office, it is signed back in using the same form as above. Once the form is submitted, the instructor will receive one final email confirming that their key has been returned.
Podium key reservations last for one quarter; a reservation made in the middle of a quarter will only last until the end of the quarter it is made in. Three weeks before the end of every quarter, an email should be sent to all current reservation holders reminding them to return their keys by the start of the following quarter. If a customer requests a renewal, this can be done remotely by updating the 'Date Out' column on the Equipment Spreadsheet in Sharepoint with the date that the request was made.
Reservations cannot be renewed between Spring and Summer quarter. All podium keys must be physically returned to the office so that they can be accounted for.
